"Gontei" a native Ga word which means "In the Middle of A HilI " , a village found in the middle of the Aburi Hills in the Eastern Region, right after a town called Jamaicaso.With a population estimated around 150-250 people, Gontei was a village which faced many challenges. From insufficient materials for the school-going children to economic hardships and barriers in accessing medical care, Gontei needed support.Project GOGO is a project launched by SMILE in 2018 with aim of providing wholistic support to the children and adults found in the village of Gontei. Together with volunteers, Smile during this project provided residents with personal items such as toiletries, clothing, food items, bibles, educational materials and to bridge the gap in their medical care-health education sessions on hygiene and menstrual hygiene were organized.PROJECT GOGO was indeed a huge success!Serving With Love, One Journey At A Time.
